There were four gas stations in cities across Socorro County selling diesel gas at the lowest price of $4.99 per gallon in the week ending Mar. 28, according to customer reports submitted to GasBuddy.
Countywide, diesel gas averaged $5.13 per gallon.
Socorro County had seven of 14 reported gas stations offering diesel gas.
The average reported price for a gallon of diesel gas in New Mexico was $5.12, up from the previous week.
U.S. gas prices continue to decline after reaching their lowest level since 2021, according to GasBuddy. The group projects the national average could dip below $2.80 per gallon during the holiday period, driven by increased oil production and lower seasonal demand.
