Effective today, the Valencia County Fire Department is issuing a County wide burn ban in effect for the next 30 days, in cooperation with our municipal partners.
Due to unseasonably warm temperatures, high winds and drought conditions, the County is prime to experience more serious fires. In addition, due to other large fires in the state, resources might not be available to assist us if we should have another large fire.
We understand the impact a burn ban has, and we do not take it lightly when we issue an order like this. Our priority is always life safety, and the protection of our community.
We will evaluate conditions after 30 days, and the ban may be extended if conditions have not improved.
We appreciate your understanding, and your willingness to help the community.
