Guadalupe County Sheriff's Office issued the following announcement on March 24.
People are still getting calls from a person who is claiming to be Sgt. Logan Tucker with the warrants division of Guadalupe Sheriff's. This person is not who they claiming to be. DO NOT GIVE HIM MONEY OR PERSONAL INFORMATION.
The Guadalupe County Sheriff's Office has been made aware that multiple persons in the area have received phone calls from someone claiming to be Deputy Logan Tucker of the Guadalupe County Sheriff's Office. It was reported the caller stated the person had several warrants out for their arrest and attempted to get them to pay for the warrants over the phone.
Logan Tucker is a deputy with the Sheriff's Office, but he did not make these calls.
It is not standard procedures for any Law Enforcement agency to call you and ask for you to pay for a fee, warrant or other fines over the phone with gift cards or any kind of money transaction.
Remember if you receive a phone call and doubt the caller, hang up and call law enforcement. DO NOT GIVE PAYMENT OVER THE PHONE.
