23 percent of applicants to the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology were admitted for fall 2018

At the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology, 83 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 70 percent are male, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Socorro enrolled 1,895 students in fall 2018, including 1,412 in undergraduate and 483 in graduate programs, data shows. 4.5 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

88 percent of undergraduates are residents of New Mexico, and 12 percent are residents of other states.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (53 percent) and Hispanic or Latino (32 percent).

The school admitted 23 percent of the 1,740 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 75 percent enrolled.
